POLICE are hunting a group of thugs who attacked a man and woman in their Linwood home during a robbery.

Three men entered the Morar Drive property at around 6.45pm on Tuesday.

The crooks attacked the the two residents and stole items before leaving the property.

Police said the injured 42-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment.

The 37-year-old woman suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

Police said extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish those who were responsible for this incident.

All three suspects are described as having Scottish accents were all wearing dark tracksuits at the time.

Detective Constable Donald MacIntyre, of Paisley CID, said: "I would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident or saw people acting suspiciously around the area to contact us.

"We are also keen for any local residents with private CCTV or possible dashcam footage to please come forward. 

"Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2727 of April 12. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
