A JOHNSTONE school celebrated reading at a special event which aimed to promote literacy.
The Read Around the Campfire event took place at St Anthony’s Primary last Wednesday.
Youngsters were able to browse book stalls, enjoy hot food from a barbecue and sing campfire songs while toasting marshmallows over fire pits.
Samantha Bogle, acting principal teacher at St Anthony’s Primary, told The Gazette: “We shared our love of reading as a whole community around our campfires.
“Thank you to our Parent Council, wonderful staff, local Scouts, St Benedict’s High pupils and, of course, our wonderful families for attending.”
