A FASHION giant is set to open a new, bigger store at Braehead shopping centre tomorrow.
H&M’s new location will be on the lower level of the centre, near River Island, and will have a wide selection of apparel, footwear and accessories for women, men and kids.
To celebrate the opening on Friday, painted art pieces designed by signwriter and graphic artist Rachel E Miller will be displayed in-store along with a live in-store art installation.
Other fun activities taking place throughout the day include an an in-person pottery masterclass with The Craft Pottery Studio and textile screen-printing on organic tote bags.
As well as having a warmer, more welcoming interior, the new store will offer H&M’s Garment Collection and Recycling service.
Launched in 2013, the scheme allows customers to donate any unwanted clothes and textiles, by any brand, whilst shopping in-store. All donated items are recycled with none going to landfill.
Chris Clare, H&M expansion manager, said the new store "will offer a welcoming, modern and meaningful shopping experience where style, creativity and culture are celebrated."
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, added: "Our centre team and shoppers will be delighted to see H&M open the doors to its upgraded store. This is a brand with whom we’ve enjoyed a long-standing relationship and we are incredibly excited to support them on the next stage of their journey with us."
