A Paisley company has given a generous donation to a kind-hearted woman wanting to help children with cancer.

Stream Marine Training based in Glasgow Airport donated £1,000 to accountant Laura Cameron who will be running the London Marathon in October.

This will be Laura’s second time running the marathon after taking part last year and raising £2,600 for Hospice UK.

Laura said: “I knew I wanted to run the marathon again for a different charity, but I used up all of my family and friends generosity last year, so this year I had to think outside of the box.

“I used to work at Stream Marine and decided to contact the CEO Martin White and ask if they would like to sponsor me. Martin agreed straight away and told me they would love to donate a very generous amount of money and tops and trainers for me to train in.

“I’ve been doing lots of training and preparation and I’d love to beat my time of four hours and one minute from last year. I’m also excited to be able to raise some money for a charity again.”

Laura has set up a Just Giving page for anyone who would like to donate to a worthy cause which you can find here and an Instagram page where you can track all of her progress.
