A HOUSTON kindergarten is being taken over by one of the UK’s largest nursery operators.

Abbey Nursery Houston, in South Street, will be operated by ICP Education following the sale of Scottish day nursery group Children’s Hour for an undisclosed sum.

Kevin and Trudy Johnson, who had owned Chidren’s Hour since 2008, decided to sell up so they could enjoy retirement.

The group comprises of Abbey Nursery Houston, which is registered for 92 children aged between six weeks and five years, and Children’s Hour Nursery, in Clydebank.

Kirsty Ibbott, ICP Education’s mergers and acquisitions director, told The Gazette: “Trudy and Kevin Johnson have established nurseries with a strong reputation for providing excellent care and early years education.

“We look forward to building on this reputation whilst supporting the current teams for a seamless integration and to ensure that, like all our nurseries, we will maintain its local identity in the community.”
