CLEVER kids from Kilbarchan Primary went head to head with others from across Scotland in the final of a prestigious quiz.

Primary six pupils flying the flag for Renfrewshire travelled to Edinburgh for the Euroquiz event in the Scottish Parliament’s debating chamber.

They pitted their wits against other finalists from 28 schools in an exciting contest that posed a selection of taxing questions.

George Watson’s College, in Edinburgh, were the winners, while Troqueer Primary, in Dumfries and Galloway, were runners-up and Kemnay Primary, in Aberdeenshire, were in third place.

Euroquiz sees teams of pupils working together to broaden their knowledge of European history, geography, sport, culture, languages and the European Union.

Deputy presiding officer and Euroquiz quizmaster Annabelle Ewing MSP said: “It’s great to see the enthusiasm for this competition.”
