A CHILD was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Renfrew at the weekend.
Police and ambulance crews were sent to Glebe Street, in the town centre, shortly before 6pm on Saturday.
Part of the road was temporarily closed while the emergency response took place.
Police have not revealed any details about the child.
It is believed the driver of the vehicle involved was not charged with any offence.
A police spokesperson said: "Around 5.50pm on Saturday, police were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a child pedestrian on Glebe Street, Renfrew.
“Emergency services attended and the child was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children, in Glasgow, for treatment.”
