Motorists are being warned to expect weeks of disruption as illuminated signs on one of Renfrewshire's busiest routes are upgraded.
The work on the A737, which starts on Monday, July 4, and is scheduled to continue until Thursday, July 28, will lead to some sections of the road being closed between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
A total of £65,000 is being spent to improve visibility on the carriageway by installing new LED lights that are more energy efficient and require less maintenance.
Work will be carried out along the full A737 route, from Paisley to Kilwinning, under various traffic management arrangements, including single lane and full road closures with diversions.
A spokesperson for contractors Amey, which is carrying out the work on behalf of Transport Scotland, said: "Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout.
"All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable."
