At the start of the route, this hotel is an affordable luxury, with a choice of room or a suite.

It gets top marks across the board including cleanliness and value. It even has a rooftop bar, room service and a sauna so you can fully relax. 

One user wrote: "We had a very nice stay at Vermont. The staff were very pleasant and we had a very nice room with views of the Tyne Bridge.

"That evening we had a very nice three-course meal with a pleasant waiter and staff.
"Next morning we had a lovely breakfast only thing was the bacon was a bit overcooked apart from that and excellent stay.

Clarion Hotel Newcastle South

If you want to stay at a hotel towards the end of the route in South Shields and want to save some money, this is the option for you. 

The four-star hotel has everything you need from a comfy bed, coffee/tea maker and flatscreen TV.

Another option for the route, the Village Hotel is affordable and perfect for everyone.
