A STRETCH of cycle track in Renfrewshire has been given a colourful new lease of life.
Talented artist Philippa Tomlin worked with local residents to create a permanent art installation as part of the Cycle Arts Festival.
The project combined poetry and a permanent mural, inspired by the area’s connection to nature, such as the birds that live along the cycle route between Paisley and Lochwinnoch.
Kilbarchan resident Steve Cartwright told The Gazette: “While walking with my grandchildren, I noticed that the disused Kilbarchan station access ramp walls had been covered in spray artwork of pigeons.
“Investigating this, I came across a group stencilling the pigeon art onto the walls.
“They allowed my two grandchildren to take part, explaining what to do and how to do it.”
