BILLY GILMOUR is reportedly wanted by Everton as Chelsea chase a deal for Anthony Gordon.

The Scotland international knows Everton boss Frank Lampard well after making his Premier League debut under the manager during his time at Chelsea.

And The Daily Star claim Lampard is keen on a reunion with the midfielder with Everton reportedly 'ramping up' their efforts for a deal.

It's claimed Everton have been interested in Gilmour all season and are ready to open talks in the coming weeks.

It comes as Chelsea continue to seek a move for Gordon, with it reported that Lampard aware he may not be able to block a transfer.

Gilmour burst onto the scene at Chelsea under Lampard but endured a difficult season out on loan at Norwich last term.

And last week Gilmour was urged to join Everton on loan by fellow ex-Rangers ace Andy Halliday.

The Hearts player insisted a reunion with Lampard is the "exact move" Gilmour needs to reignite his career.

Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, Halliday explained: "Everton is the exact move that Billy Gilmour needs to make to get his career back on track.

"Frank Lampard gave him his debut at "Chelsea and has a lot of trust in him whilst also knowing the ability he has.

"We've seen players have bad loan spells before and still come back and play really well.

"There's no doubt in Billy's quality and I think there's no better loan move to make than reuniting with Lampard at Everton."
