A RENFREW man is accused of making a sectarian remark at the Scottish League Cup Final.
David Di Pinto, 38, allegedly committed the crime at Hampden on December 19 last year.
The Glasgow stadium hosted a match between Celtic and Hibernian that day, with the Hoops recording a 2-1 victory.
Court papers state that Di Pinto resisted, obstructed or hindered PC Thomas Archibald in the execution of his duty.
It is claimed that he lashed out with his arms "in an effort to evade arrest."
Di Pinto also faces a second charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at the same time and place.
It is stated that he caused a disturbance, repeatedly shouted and swore and uttered a sectarian remark.
The offence is said to have been aggravated by religious prejudice.
Di Pinto denies the two charges he faced at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
A trial has been fixed for the new year by Sheriff Andrew Cubie.
