An activity centre for the visually-impaired in Renfrewshire has been handed a welcome cash boost by a leading housebuilder.

Miller Homes has donated £200 to Sight Scotland Veterans, based in Hawkhead Road, Paisley, to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week.

The money will be used to help purchase new equipment for the hub, which assists blind and partially sighted ex-servicemen and women.

Alison Gray, deputy centre manager at Sight Scotland Veterans, said: "We can't thank Miller Homes enough for this unexpected donation.

"Sight Scotland Veterans supports veterans living with significant sight loss, and our support equips people to rediscover and maintain their independence and to improve their quality of life.

"We look forward to purchasing additional equipment that will help our veterans who attend the Hawkhead Centre."

Louise Caldwell, sales director for Miller Homes Scotland West, added: "We wanted to share some positivity within our Paisley community, and what better way to do this than during Random Acts of Kindness Week.

"Our Hawkhead neighbourhood wouldn't be the same without this fantastic local business, and it has been a pleasure to support Sight Scotland Veterans with our pay-it-forward donation."
