A JOHNSTONE man who receives help from a local support service is stepping forward to raise funds for a special day out with his friends.

Christopher Graham is a resident of Quarriers' Renfrewshire Supportive Living Initiative, which helps adults who have a physical disability, learning disability or acquired a brain injury to live at home and be a part of their local community.

The 38-year-old is taking part in a nine-mile sponsored walk from Walkinshaw Street, in Johnstone, to Barshaw Park, in Paisley, on Friday, April 28, along with his team leader Caron Wylie.

All funds raised will be used towards organise a trip to Blair Drummond Safari Park and a garden party for everyone who receives help from Quarriers' Renfrewshire Supportive Living Initiative.

Christopher said: "I want to raise money so that everyone can get together for a day out. We are friends but we don't get to see each other very often and it will cheer everyone up.

"I think the walk is a good way to keep fit and raise money at the same time. I'm hoping to have a stop at Barshaw park for a coffee and a cake before walking back."
