A cheerleading club in Renfrewshire has been handed a welcome cash boost by a leading housebuilder.

Twist and Hit Cheerleaders, based in Paisley, has been awarded £500 from Miller Homes' 2022 Community Fund.

The money will be used by the club to purchase ramps and additional aids to make its premises more accessible to those with physical impairments.

Twist and Hit Cheerleaders offers classes for all ages and abilities to allow youngsters to keep fit and socialise with their friends.

Sarah McNeill, founder of the club, said: "The funding will go towards the cost of sprung floor ramp access which is a vital part of apparatus to support those with physical impairments to access our gym.

"With this upgrade, we can now offer classes to a wider group and increase inclusivity."

Louise Caldwell, sales director at Miller Homes Scotland West, added: "The Community Fund has been well received by projects across Renfrewshire, and it's been fantastic to be able to support Twist and Hit Cheerleaders on the important work they're doing.

"Community is at the heart of our Hawkhead development. We understand many projects are operating in challenging circumstances, and we're glad to be able to help where we can, as we recognise the vital work they do to support those in the local community."
