All three of Renfrewshire's MSPs are now ministers in the Scottish Government following the election of the new SNP leader Humza Yousaf.

Tom Arthur, MSP for Renfrewshire South, continues as Minister for Community Wealth and Public Finance after being appointed to the role in 2021.

He told The Gazette: "It's an honour to have been asked to continue to serve as Minister for Community Wealth and Public Finance. 

"I'm looking forward to continuing the Scottish Government's work to strengthen our economy and put more power in the hands of our local communities."

Meanwhile, Renfrewshire North and West MSP Natalie Don has been promoted to Minister for Children, Young People and Keeping the Promise.

She said: "This role is very important to me. I've made no secret of some of my experiences growing up and between that and my young family at home, I am fully committed to ensuring the absolute best for all our children and young people. 

"Every child deserves to grow up feeling safe, loved and able to reach their full potential and Keeping the Promise for our care experienced young people is an integral part of that.

"With responsibility over matters around early years, childcare and children’s services to name just a few, I couldn't be happier with the portfolio."

George Adam, who represents Paisley, has been asked to continue as Minister for Parliamentary Business, which he has served as since 2021.

He told The Gazette: "It was a privilege to serve in the Government of Nicola Sturgeon and I was more than pleased to be asked to carry on my work by the new First Minister Humza Yousaf. 

"Everybody knows how I feel about representing Paisley, I could not conceive of a better job, and to have a Ministerial post along with that is an honour."
