BUSINESSES are being invited to a free event that will help them on their journey towards a net zero future.

Steps to Net Zero is being held on Wednesday, June 7, from 9.30am until 2pm at the Ingliston Country Club and Hotel in Bishopton.

The event, which is being run by Renfrewshire Council is open to all businesses from across the Glasgow City Region and it will feature speakers, exhibitors, and opportunities to network.

Speakers at the event will include Scottish Enterprise, who will be outlining how to use their net zero accelerator tool and experts from the University of the West of Scotland who will showcase how to develop a sustainability strategy.

City Region companies will also be sharing their journeys to net zero, including Lochlie Construction.

Venue hosts Ingliston Country Club will also be outlining their sustainability programme.

Councillor Andy Steel, convener of Renfrewshire’s economy and regeneration policy board, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for small and medium-sized businesses from Renfrewshire and the wider Glasgow City Region to get all the information they need to take the first steps towards net zero.

“The event will provide practical help and signpost the different support available right now, while also highlighting the big benefits to businesses of becoming more sustainable, from reducing overhead costs to opening up new market opportunities.”

Steps to Net Zero for Business is being hosted by Renfrewshire Council in partnership with the Glasgow City Region and sponsored by EXTEND.
