Youngsters from a Johnstone football team enjoyed a trip to remember as they honed their skills at a training camp in Manchester.

Players and coaches representing Johnstone Burgh's 2010 squad recently visited Etihad Stadium and other facilities used by Premier League club Manchester City.

During the trip, youngsters were given a weekend of training experience and were able to sample the cuisine that is required to perform football at an elite level.

Those who took part were also able to visit the National Football Museum, shop at the Trafford Centre and watch the Manchester City vs Chelsea title presentation match.

The special trip was a result of eight months of committed fundraising by players, parents and local businesses.

Coaches had also been working hard behind the scenes with tour operator inspiresport to organise the training camp and travel itinerary.

Scott Graham, head coach of Johnstone Burgh's 2010 squad, said: "It was a long slog but everyone pulled together and was a real team effort.
