Family members of a Paisley grandad who was killed in a road crash are organising a special event in his memory.
Jim Paterson was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragic incident, which took place on Brediland Road on Sunday, November 27, 2022.
Last month, police confirmed a 26-year-old driver had been charged in connection with the fatal crash involving the 63-year-old pedestrian.
Jim's loved ones are now planning to organise a charity event to raise funds for road safety charity Brake, which has been supporting the bereaved family.
The charity offers a National Road Victim Service, which provides emotional and practical support to people affected by road crashes.
Jim's daughter Amanda said her family was now keen to give back to Brake, which is based in England.
"Brake is very close to us," she told The Gazette.
"One of the women at the charity phones us every week and my mum chats away with them.
"We are hoping that Brake will be able to branch out and maybe get an office in Scotland, as they've made such a difference to our lives."
The family, who live in the Glenburn area of Paisley, have also been receiving support from the local community for their charity event.
It will take place at the Blacklandmill Bowling Club, in Braehead Road, Paisley, on Saturday, September 23, starting at 7.30pm.
Amanda said: "Everyone in Glenburn has just been amazing, with many people mucking in to help.
"Blacklandmill Bowling Club has given us the hall for free and they've also organised a DJ as well, with the buffet being provided by Scott's Cafe, in Foxbar.
"My dad got quite a few St Mirren tops that were signed and framed and we are going to do an auction for that on the night.
"We've already received a lot of donations for the raffle, such as meal vouchers worth £20, gutter cleanings and tours of the brewery in Paisley.
"Everyone has been so kind and offering so much."
Tickets for the event cost £5.
Amanda added: "We are welcoming any donations, as the more money we get, the better for the charity."
