More than 20 trees in Paisley will undergo pruning and crown clearance after permission was granted by Renfrewshire Council.

Tree surgeons have been given the green light for the works at Brabloch Park after submitting the relevant application.

The efforts, which will focus on 23 mature lime trees, are needed after branches were described as “encroaching” onto existing buildings.

Additionally, some dead branches were also said to be falling from trees into the car park.

A report explaining the decision said the works are considered “good woodland management” because of the trees’ condition, height and proximity to buildings, as well as potential for damage to property.
