A Renfrew mum has told of how taking part in a new Channel 4 show has helped her accept her disability.
Stacey Macleod, 33, will star in Selling Super Houses, where eight aspiring real estate agents compete for the job of a lifetime.
Each week, they will face challenges set by London-born property magnate Paul Kemsley, who will award the winner with a role as a super prime real estate agent within his property agency RIB.
Stacey was motivated to take part in the television series to raise more awareness about vascular malformation, which is an abnormal development of blood vessels.
She told The Gazette: "I use crutches and part of my leg is quite deformed, so I've lived most of my life covering that up and being quite insecure.
"I got to a stage in my life where I thought, 'I am who I am, so I should love who I am and be out there'.
"By going on the show, I'm totally exposing myself as my leg is visible. For me to put myself out there on national TV and let people see me for me is a big step for me."
Stacey admits she is anxious about the reaction of viewers when the first episode of the show airs next week.
The mum-of-two said: "I have lived most of my adult life dealing with bullies and nastiness, so I'm totally exposing myself to that happening to me.
"I am nervous about the show coming out and how I will be received because people can be negative but if I can have a positive impact on others living with a disability, then I'll be happy.
"I hope they will be able to see that nothing should stop you from achieving your dreams and doing what you want to do."
Before appearing in Selling Super Houses, Stacey had no previous experience working as a real estate agent.
The former Renfrew High pupil said: "I'm an award-winning photographer and I've been in the industry for 12 years.
"My business was massively impacted by Covid and the cost-of-living crisis, so this opportunity to win a job of a lifetime seemed like a no-brainer to me.
"I'm a very ambitious woman and I love facing new challenges and putting myself to the test."
In the first episode of Selling Super Houses, the eight contestants are given the challenge of hosting an open house event at one of RIB agency's most exclusive properties worth £20million.
Stacey said: "This is the first television show I've ever done and it was genuinely the most fun experience ever.
"We were thrown into the deep end with the open house event being our first challenge, but we had a load of laughs.
"Working with Paul Kemsley has been an absolute dream, he is a great guy and has been kind of a father figure to me."
