Two separate accidents took place on the same stretch of road today within minutes of each other, police have confirmed.
At around 2.25pm, officers were alerted to a crash on the A737 near Linwood.
They then received a report of a second crash on the road, this time near Kilbarchan, a short time later.
Traffic Scotland issued alerts this afternoon warning drivers travelling on the route that they were facing restrictions this afternoon as a result of road traffic incidents.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told the Gazette: "Around 2.40pm on Wednesday, September 20, officers received a report of a road crash on the A737 near Kilbarchan. The vehicle was recovered.
"Around 2.25pm on Wednesday, September 20, officers received a report of a road crash on the A737, near Linwood. Officers attended and the vehicle was recovered."
