RESIDENTS are being invited to have their say on a proposed residential development for over 70 new homes in Kilbarchan.

Cala Homes will be hosting public consultations at Kilbarchan Parish Church on Friday, October 13 from 3.30pm until 6.30pm and Friday, October 27, again from 3.30pm to 6.30pm to discuss the proposal.

Locals are being encouraged to attend and provide feedback on the plans for the new development on an unused plot of land that sits adjacent to Barrhill Crescent in the south-east of the village - which was allocated by the local authority for housing in 2021.

It comes after Cala Homes previously submitted a Proposal of Application Notice to the council in May.

According to the developer, the area will include a mix of private and affordable homes, complemented by ample green space.

Currently, proposals include around 72 three-, four-, and five-bedroom homes, and affordable properties.

The events follow previous consultation events earlier this year, and now Cala Homes has revised proposals based on the feedback gathered.

The two new events will help provide further opportunities for the community to give feedback on the design changes.

Graham McNeil, Land Director, Cala Homes (West) said: “We look forward to sharing our evolved designs which meet the need for high-quality and sustainable homes locally.

“Engaging with the community and understanding their views is crucial as we work towards submitting a planning application to Renfrewshire Council.

“The additional events will allow us the opportunity to showcase design changes as we prioritise proactive engagement with local residents.”
