A Renfrewshire charity that helps people with mobility issues has a new name.

Shopmobility Renfrewshire was formally known as Shopmobility Paisley & District but has been rebranded to "move forward and clarify" the role of the organisation.

The charity's new name was officially announced at the latest meeting of RenSEN (Renfrewshire Social Enterprise Network).

Councillor Kenny MacLaren, chair of Shopmobility Renfrewshire, said: "It was great of the RenSEN network to give us the time to present not only our new name but to outline our new plans for taking our local shopmobility services forward.

"This included our plans to offer more widely our mobility scooter maintenance and repairs service for anyone who has problems with their own scooter.

"Just give us a call and we'll see what we can do to get you mobile again."

Karen Miller, office manager and fundraising officer of Shopmobility Renfrewshire, added: "More and more funders, including local council partnerships, were constantly asking what areas we cover so moving to Shopmobility Renfrewshire as our new name better reflects the area we cover.

"All the legal changes have been completed with both Companies House and OSCR, and we're looking forward to pushing ahead with our new name but still focussing on providing excellent services to the people of Renfrewshire."
