Here is a round-up of new planning applications submitted to or approved by council bosses in Renfrewshire recently.

Three applications validated by the local authority in November:

  • Plans to create over 20 new retirement flats along with communal facilities.

This application was validated by the local authority on Tuesday, November 14.

The applicant is looking to create 25 new retirement flats with communal facilities on the site of St Joseph's Nursing Home on Kilbirnie Road in Lochwinnoch.

On top of that, they also hope to refurbish the former chapel on the grounds and convert it into a further five retirement flats with associated roads, parking, and landscaping works.

Currently, according to the plans, the area is a former nursing home which is partially demolished.

Council bosses are yet to approve the application.

  • Plans to form new industrial units in Paisley.

Validated by Renfrewshire Council on Tuesday, November 7, this application aims to construct a new building to form two industrial units on McKean Street.

According to the applicant, the new building would be adjacent to existing industrial units.

However, the local authority has yet to give the green light for the plans.

  • Plans to refurbish and extend a community centre building in Paisley.

This proposal was validated by the council on Monday, November 27.

The applicant is looking to refurbish, make alterations, and extend an existing community centre building on Wallace Street in the town to "better accommodate building users, STAR Project".

Again, the local authority has yet to decide on the plans.

Here are three applications that were approved by Renfrewshire Council in November:

  • Plans to change a pub into a food and drink venue in Paisley

This application was originally validated by the council on Thursday, August 17.

The applicant was looking to change a pub on 29 Wellmeadow Street into a food and drink venue with a hot food takeaway.

Renfrewshire Council approved the plans on Tuesday, November 14.

  • Plans to "part change" the use of a tool hire centre to a hot food takeaway in Paisley.

These plans, which were originally validated on Friday, February 3, are to part change the use of a tool hire centre on Abercorn Street to a hot food takeaway alongside exterior alterations.

The local authority granted the proposal on Thursday, November 16.

  • Plans to change a betting office into several flats in Paisley.

This application, which was validated on Wednesday, May 24, is looking to change the use of a betting office in order to create three flats as well as external alterations and a single-storey extension on Wellmeadow Street.

The proposal was given the green light by the council on Friday, November 24.​
