A Renfrewshire school is set to enjoy new play equipment following a welcoming cash boost from a property developer.
It comes after Stewart Milne Homes donated £1000 to Dargavel Primary School to support the purchase of outdoor play equipment and a sandpit to provide students with a fun outdoor space.
The donation was inspired by primary one pupils who wrote to the local house builders' office, based in the new Dargavel Village development, asking for support to renovate the school garden.
Impressed by the youngsters' proactiveness and touched by their handwritten letter, the developer was "more than happy to support the school".
Following this, a cheque was presented by sales representatives from Stewart Milne Homes Dargavel Village at an assembly on Friday, November 24.
Mr Carlton, Head Teacher at Dargavel Primary School said: "We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from Stewart Milne Homes.
"The new equipment will be a fantastic addition to our outdoor space that I’m sure will be much-loved by pupils at break and lunch times.”
Rossanna MacDonald, Sales Consultant at Stewart Milne Homes Dargavel Village, added: "We were touched to receive a handwritten letter from primary one pupils as they so eagerly want to enhance their garden space.
"Our sales office is located directly opposite from Dargavel Primary School so we are looking forward to see lots of smiling faces when their new play equipment arrives and we look forward to supporting the school in the future.”
