A SCOTS star is set to host an event near Renfrewshire to help raise cash for a good cause that is "close to his heart".

Gary Hollywood, who plays Dino Doyle in Mrs Brown's Boys, will host the Big Band Brunch on Sunday, January 14, at the Gleddoch Golf & Spa Resort.

The actor is taking part in the event to help raise money for the DreamMaker Foundation, which hopes to make the wishes of sick children come true.

Gary said: "It's wonderful to be raising money for such a good cause.

"I've been a supporter of the DreamMaker Foundation for many years.

"The charity helps children with life-threatening illnesses meet their idols and also enjoy special days out with their families.

"The event is sure to be special."

Angela Cook, charity manager at DreamMaker, based in Wishaw, said: "It's our first time at Gleddoch, which is such a prestigious venue, and our first ever big band event.

"What a combination!
