A man who died in a horror crash in Paisley has been named by police.
We previously reported the incident took place on Gauze Street at the junction with Silk Street at around 8pm on Monday, April 1.
The crash involved a red Volkswagen Golf, a red Vauxhall Astra and an elderly man on a mobility scooter.
999 crews rushed to the scene and an 88-year-old man, who was riding the mobility scooter, was taken to hospital.
Tragically, he died a short time later.
Now, police have named the man as George Johnston.
Following the incident, the road was closed for seven hours to allow investigations to be carried out.
Sergeant Robert Mackie said: “Our thoughts remain with George’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact us.
“We also ask anyone with dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3252 of Monday, April 1, 2024."
