Renfrewshire Council tenants are set to be asked how satisfied they are with their homes and the local authority’s housing services.

A survey, which will be conducted by independent company Research Resource, is due to be carried out this month and next in a bid to gather crucial feedback.

A sample of residents will be asked to take part by phone which will allow the council to identify areas of improvement and make sure it’s meeting people’s needs.

In a letter to tenants, Louise Feely, head of housing services, said: “As your landlord it’s important we understand what you enjoy about living in your home and what you think about the housing services we provide. Your feedback helps us to identify areas for improvement and ensures we can best meet your needs.

“We have commissioned independent research company Research Resource to carry out this satisfaction survey. They will be conducting the survey by phoning a sample of tenants during April and May.

“You may be contacted by phone to take part in our satisfaction survey. Phone calls will be made during the day, including at weekends, and the survey typically takes around 20 minutes to complete.”

The survey is expected to touch on a range of areas including satisfaction with housing services and neighbourhoods, what tenants like about their home, how tenants contact the council and questions about repairs, rent arrears and estate management.

Ms Feely added: “The survey covers various aspects including your satisfaction with our services, your communication preferences and your likes or dislikes about your home.”

All information provided is strictly confidential and nobody will visit a tenant’s home to complete the survey or request personal financial information.

The feedback from the process will help inform housing services and will later be reported to the local authority’s communities and housing policy board.
