A filmmaker wants to flaunt Paisley's talent in a new documentary about music.

The hour-long film will premiere on May 10, 2024, entitled 'Vibrant Voices - Scotland's Music Scene’ by filmmaker Daryl Speirs.

Made with his videography company ‘Straight Horizon Media’ it will prominently feature Paisley and hear from an artist involved in events across the town.

Musician, music therapist, and compere Johnny Barr will be seen at an open mic night at ‘The Keg’ venue and bar on Gilmour Street.

It will also include footage from iconic venues such as the Barrowland Ballroom, early live footage from Lewis Capaldi, sessions with rising star Callum Beattie, and a photographer’s story behind an iconic shot of Gerry Cinnamon at the TRNSMT festival.

The project began last June and will show varied aspects of Scotland's music industry such as buskers, musicians, venue owners, photographers, and more.

Daryl says having lived there for almost four years, the town means a lot to him and made him want to highlight the area.

Daryl said: “I have a lot of great memories of attending music events here both as a performer and as a fan. I really wanted to highlight some of the amazing people I've met through the years and make something people would find engaging."
