A MAN has been arrested after allegedly approaching a woman during the early hours of the morning and acting 'suspiciously'.
Officers received reports of a woman being approached by a man in Garthland Lane in Paisley at around 2.20am on Sunday, August 25.
The man reportedly acted suspiciously towards the woman before becoming aggressive.
Police confirmed a 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection.
He has been released on an undertaking to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court at a later date.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the alleged incident.
Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Enquiries into this incident remain ongoing and we would appeal to any potential witnesses who were within Paisley Town Centre in the early hours of Sunday morning to please come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0480 of Sunday, August 25, 2024.
