A man has been charged after police allegedly found suspicious items in Paisley.
We reported how cops were called to the George Street area following a report of a car on fire shortly after 8am on Monday, September 2.
999 crews raced to the scene. After that, the blaze was extinguished.
However, officers say a 'number of suspicious items' were found in the common close of a building nearby.
Now, police say a 41-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the alleged incident.
He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today (Tuesday, September 3).
Meanwhile, due to the incident, properties in the area had to be evacuated as a precaution.
On top of that, George Street was closed between Causeyside Street and Barr Place.
After discovering the alleged suspicious packages, specialist officers assessed them and found there was no threat to the public.
Luckily, no one was injured during the incident.
