High street heroes are being celebrated for their dedication to building stronger communities.
Nominations are now open for the 2025 Scotland Loves Local Awards, which shine a spotlight on the people and organisations who help make towns and neighbourhoods across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire better places to live, work, and visit.
The awards are organised by Scotland’s Towns Partnership (STP) as part of the wider Scotland Loves Local campaign, which encourages residents to support businesses and organisations in their communities.

Kimberley Guthrie, chief officer at Scotland’s Towns Partnership, said: "Every day, people and organisations go above and beyond to make their communities better and I’ve been lucky to meet a few of them and see what brilliant work they do.
"The impact of that determination to make a difference should never be underestimated.
"The Scotland Loves Local Awards are an opportunity to recognise and reward that success, celebrating collective and individual achievements.
"They are a fantastic way to say a special thank you."
The awards recognise the innovation and collaboration that strengthens towns and neighbourhoods, making them more sustainable.
Residents can nominate individuals or groups for the High Street Hero award in West Scotland, or put forward their town for the national Town of the Year title.
A total of eight High Street Hero awards will be presented—one for each Scottish Parliament electoral region.
Supporting organisations such as Paisley First, All About Barrhead, and I Love Clarkston have played a key role in promoting the Scotland Loves Local campaign, encouraging the public to support nearby businesses and services.
Other national award categories include Most Enterprising Community and Place Leader of the Year.
Nominations can be submitted at www.lovelocal.scot/awards, where full category details and criteria are also available.
The deadline for entries is 11.59pm on Wednesday, August 20.

Finalists will be revealed in September, with winners announced in October.
An awards reception will be held in Edinburgh in November to honour those selected.
Now in its fifth year, the Scotland Loves Local movement is supported by the Scottish Government and led by STP.
It aims to build a better future for communities by encouraging people to choose and support local.
The awards offer a chance to celebrate the unsung heroes contributing to thriving, resilient, and inclusive towns and neighbourhoods.
By recognising these efforts, the scheme hopes to inspire even greater community action and support for high streets across the country.
