A nature reserve in Renfrewshire is inviting families to enjoy a summer of wildlife discovery and outdoor fun.

RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch is offering a season of self-led activities and new visitor experiences throughout July and August.

The reserve's newly-opened visitor centre is open daily from 9.30am to 5pm, offering a starting point for families to begin their wildlife adventures.

Robert Conn, visitor experience manager, said: "There’s no better place to tune into summer than out in nature at RSPB Scotland Lochwinnoch.

"Discover the sights, sounds, and even smells of Scotland’s wildlife, have fun as a family, and enjoy time in the outdoors together."

In July, visitors are invited to take part in the Summer Super Spotter Challenge, a self-guided activity that encourages children to spot and learn about different creatures around the reserve.

Each participant will receive an activity pack and can claim a prize at the visitor centre once completed.

In August, the Wild Superpowers trail will highlight the unique adaptations and ‘superpowers’ that help wildlife survive in their natural habitats.

Activity packs for both trails are available for £4 each from the visitor centre.
