DRIVERS are being urged to ‘avoid’ a busy road following a crash.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Main Road in Elderslie after the alarm was raised at around 1.55pm on Tuesday.

Police say the crash involved a car and a bus.

The road is currently closed between the junction at Glenpatrick Road and the roundabout for Linwood Road and the A761.

Officers note the roundabout is not closed.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area if possible. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Main Road in Elderslie is closed following a crash involving a car and a bus, which was reported at 1.55pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

“The road is closed between the junction for Glenpatrick Road and to the roundabout for Linwood Road and the A761. The roundabout is not closed.

“Emergency services are in attendance. Please avoid the area, if possible.”
