More than £160,000 worth of drugs were allegedly discovered at properties in Renfrewshire.

Officers executed warrants at homes in Rowan Street and Strathcarron Road in Paisley, as well as a premises in Mary Street and Campbell Street in Johnstone on Thursday, August 7.

Officers reportedly recovered drugs with an estimated street value of £161,000 during the day of action.

Cocaine with an estimated street value of £130,000 and cannabis with an estimated street value of £31,000 were allegedly found.

Police confirmed a 28-year-old man was arrested in connection with the alleged cannabis recovery.

He has since been released pending further enquiry.

Officers say their investigation into the reported recovery remains ongoing.

Detective Inspector Gordon Smith, from the Serious and Organised Crime Team, said: "This significant recovery highlights our commitment to tackling dangerous and illegal drugs in our communities.
"This seizure also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

"Information from the public is vital in helping us tackle this issue, and I would urge anyone with information or concerns about drugs should contact Police Scotland on 101 or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
