A huge sports star is set to open EE’s first Scottish Experience store today at Braehead Shopping Centre.
The new site, which will open at 12pm today, October 2, will be officially unveiled by former Scotland rugby captain John Barclay, who will cut the ribbon and welcome the first visitors.
The launch is part of a £3 million investment in EE’s UK retail presence this year.

Asif Aziz, retail director at EE, said: "Our goal is to create welcoming spaces where shoppers can explore, play and connect with technology, all while receiving expert guidance from our excellent EE Guides.
"As we bring our Experience store format to Scotland, we look forward to helping local communities discover how technology, when paired with the best network, can enhance their everyday lives, while also helping families feel empowered to manage their children’s connected lives.
"I would encourage anyone to drop by and speak to our wonderful team in Glasgow about how to make the most of their connected tech, whether it’s upgrading to the latest handset or finding out the best parental controls available."
The Experience store is designed to let customers try out smart technology first-hand.
Glasgow’s new branch includes zones focused on gaming, work, learning, and home technology, as well as a Tech Home area that demonstrates connected living.

There is also a Welcome Zone, a Gaming Zone, a Basecamp community hub and a Tech Live space for hands-on product testing.
EE Guides are on hand throughout the store to offer advice and support.
Visitors can also book 30-minute sessions with a Guide for personalised help on device setup, online safety and other topics.
These sessions are open to everyone, not just EE customers.
John Barclay, former Scotland rugby captain, said: "As someone close to the city through my rugby days, it’s great to see that Glasgow has been chosen for EE’s first Experience store in Scotland.
"Alongside its vibrant sports and cultural scene, the city is a hub for tech investment, and this impressive new store and expert team of Guides reflect that."

Ashley Bisland, centre director at Braehead Shopping Centre, welcomed the addition.
She said: "We're delighted to be the chosen location for EE's Experience Store and home to the first of its kind in Scotland.
"Our strong retail mix at Braehead Shopping Centre already appeals to a wide range of shoppers and EE's investment in the Experience Zone will be a welcome offering for our community of technology enthusiasts."
Guests will be treated to a DJ set from one of EE’s local call centre team members.
Throughout the day, visitors had the chance to explore the interactive zones and speak with EE Guides about the latest tech solutions.
