A glass of prosecco, Christmas shopping and a good cause await at a festive late-night event next month.

Dobbies Garden Centre in Braehead will host a Christmas Shopping Night on Thursday, November 27, from 5pm to 8pm, in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The event will mark the start of seven days of Black Friday deals, including 20% off selected 7ft artificial trees, lighting, advent calendars and Christmas food gifts, as well as half-price LED tabletop games.

Ayesha Nickson, events programme manager at Dobbies, said: “Christmas Shopping Night is a great opportunity for friends and family to come together and get a head start on the Christmas shopping at our Braehead store.

“We have some great offers and promotions to take advantage of, whilst soaking up the festive atmosphere and fundraising for a great cause.

“Christmas Shopping Night is a staple in our seasonal events calendar and, this year, will raise funds for our national charity partner, Alzheimer’s Research UK.”

Customers who book online at dobbies.com will also receive a £5 off £25 voucher and £10 off £50 voucher to use during the event.

Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-can basis, priced at £1, £2.50 or £5, with all proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Research UK.

These can be purchased online via www.dobbies.com or in-store on the night.

Volunteers from the charity will be present on the night to run fundraising activities, including raffles and donation buckets.

Upon arrival, guests will be offered a glass of prosecco or a soft drink.

The event will also include the chance to visit Santa in his North Pole-themed grotto, live entertainment from community groups and in-store demonstrations and tastings from the foodhall and Bakery to Go.

Dobbies’ Braehead restaurant will offer a light bite menu until 7.15pm, with options including soups, toasted sandwiches and festive cakes.

As part of the evening, schools and nurseries selected through the Dobbies Community Christmas Tree campaign will be invited to collect a free real Christmas tree.
