Braehead Shopping Centre is gearing up for the festive season.

As one of Scotland’s leading retail and leisure destinations, the centre is offering a packed calendar of Christmas events, activities, and extended shopping hours designed to capture the magic of the season and brighten every visit.

Until December 19, shoppers can enjoy late-night shopping until 10pm, and on December 22 and 23 the centre will remain open even later, until 11pm.

Ashley Bisland, centre director at Braehead Shopping Centre, said: "We always aim to make the customer experience as magical as possible for our community and beyond – especially during this time of the year.

"From our new decorations to a packed line-up of festive fun, there’s something to enjoy during every visit.

"In addition, the festive season is the perfect time to show our support to local charities and community groups and we’ve already had some incredible performances from talented local schools, choirs, and dance groups to not only bring the festive cheer but also raise vital funds towards great causes.

"This Christmas, we’ve supported Renfrewshire’s Provost, Lorraine Cameron and Renfrewshire Council Children’s Services with a pyjama appeal to make a meaningful difference to local families.

"We look forward to celebrating the very best of the season with our community."

One of the highlights on this year’s festive line-up is the Dance Around the Christmas Tree event, taking place on Friday, December 19, from 3pm to 8pm in the centre’s Central Atrium.

The fundraising event will feature a festive DJ, a 360-degree photo booth, giveaways, confetti cannons, and plenty of Christmas classics.

Nearby, a dedicated pyjama collection box will be available in support of the Pyjama Appeal, located near JD in the Central Atrium.

From December 20 to January 6, visitors can immerse themselves in the Electric Christmas Glow Room, an interactive installation in the lower food mall where light and music combine for a fully immersive festive experience.

Entry is by a suggested £3 donation, with all proceeds going to Cash for Kids.

Shoppers will also be greeted by new Christmas decorations throughout the centre, including a traditional Christmas tree created in partnership with ACCORD Hospice.

Braehead’s ice centre is also getting in on the festivities with The Big Christmas Skate.

Themed sessions running throughout December include Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Christmas Jumper Skate, Grinchmas on Ice, and Skate with Santa, with a special session planned for Christmas Eve.

Tickets are priced at £12 including skate hire, and children under five skate for free.

Visitors can also look forward to extended shopping opportunities.

The centre opens daily from 9am and will remain open until 8pm on weekends.

Late-night trading hours extend to 10pm until December 19 and to 11pm on December 22 and 23.

Full details of opening hours and the complete schedule of festive events are available on the centre’s website.

Bisland also encouraged visitors to take part in the season’s charitable giving.

She added: "To support the Pyjama Appeal, visitors can donate by placing new pyjamas in the dedicated collection box located in the Central Atrium, near JD."
