A warning has been issued after a case of bird flu was confirmed in Lochwinnoch .
The H5N1 strain was found in a wild bird at Castle Semple Loch, prompting public health and safety advice.
Avian flu is an infectious disease that spreads among birds and, in rare instances, can pose a risk to humans.
Renfrewshire Council has confirmed they are "following national guidance in response" to this and have displayed "information posters around the loch as well as issued public communications to inform people that avian flu has been detected."

The public is also advised to keep to the footpaths with dogs on leads, and do not pick up or touch dead or sick wild birds.
Do not feed wild waterfowl, and do not touch wild bird feathers or surfaces contaminated with wild bird droppings.
If you keep poultry, or other birds, wash your hands, clean and disinfect your footwear before tending to your birds.
Anyone who discovers dead wild birds is asked to report them to the Defra helpline by calling 03459 33 55 77.
The public can also report them online.
