A Paisley man has admitted masturbating in public.

John Drummond, who has multiple previous convictions for sexual offences, admitted that on May 10, last year, at a property in Linside Avenue in Paisley, he did “intentionally engage in sexual activity” in the presence of two females, who were not known to him.

Drummond, of Woodside Crescent in the town, pleaded guilty to masturbating in front of the women.

Procurator fiscal depute Abigail McKenna today told Paisley Sheriff Court the police are seeking a sexual harm prevention order.

Drummond’s defence agent asked for background reports to be called for.

Sheriff Sheena Fraser adjourned sentence for the preparation of a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment.

The 68-year-old was placed on the sex offender’s register meantime and will return to court for sentencing on February 6.

Consideration of a sexual harm prevention order was continued until the same day.
