A Paisley bank worker has been jailed after being caught dealing a Class-B drug.

Salem Nasoor, who works as a financial advisor for NatWest was snared when cops could smell cannabis coming from his car in the town’s Underwood Court and Underwood Road.

When cops spoke with the father-of-three, he freely told them he had cannabis at his home in the town’s Clydeside Terrace.

Paisley Sheriff Court this week heard the value of cannabis recovered from the 36-year-old’s home had a street value of £4900.

In addition, cash totalling £2930 was also found by cops in Nasoor’s home.

Nasoor admitted to being concerned in the supply of cannabis on September 18, 2024.

Defence agent Robert Mitchell told the town’s court his client was jailed for 21 months in 2015 for an “analogous offence.”

He added: “Despite this conviction, there has been no offending for the last ten years.”

Sheriff Simon Pender stated this was a “serious offence” and jailed Nasoor for 12 months reduced to 10 months to reflect his early guilty plea.
