An update has been issued on when locals can expect a new pizza restaurant to open in Renfrew .

Woody's Wood Fired Pizzas was first teased on social media back in August of last year.

The business will be based out of 54 High Street and promises "real wood-fired flavour" and food that "hits the spot every time".

The owners have now shared an update with punters, confirming that the opening date has been delayed due to the ceiling collapsing in the kitchen.

A statement on Facebook read: "Renovations have been flying and we honestly can’t wait to show you the unreal work Elevation Construction has done.

"The council have also been brilliant and got the electric reconnected — big win!

"BUT… (there’s always a but, eh? ) Over the Christmas period there was a leak from the premises above us and unfortunately, the ceiling in our kitchen collapsed.

"So frustrating and totally out of our control. Because of this, we currently don’t have a confirmed opening date while this major issue is fixed.

"We know you’re all desperate to get through the doors — trust us, we are too — and we honestly appreciate your patience more than you know

"Please keep an eye on our socials for updates and our opening date as soon as we have it.

"Thanks again for sticking with us — it’ll be worth the wait."
