However, local businessman Gary McCaw has stepped in to stop the boozer from shutting its doors for good.

The pub is currently being refurbished and will reopen as Sportsters on Saturday, January 31.

A post on social media describes the site as "Paisley's newest, yet original, home of sport".

The bar will also serve food seven days a week.
