Paisley is set to make its mark on the UK’s cultural calendar.

The debut Paisley Arts Festival will take place from March 27 to March 29.

The opening night will feature a special tribute to Pam Hogg, renowned designer, musician, and artist.

Led by author and friend Irvine Welsh, the event Pam Hogg: Style, Defiance and the Art of Being Seen will take the form of a reflective conversation about Hogg's life and legacy at Paisley Town Hall.

The discussion will include personal reflections from Welsh and contributions from figures in music, fashion, and journalism, including model and actor Eunice Olumide MBE.

Councillor Lisa-Marie Hughes, chair of OneRen, said: "We could not be happier with the line-up for the first-ever Paisley Arts Festival.

"This is a festival which will really get under the skin of Paisley as a music town, from which passion, creativity and energy has been felt across the world.

"It is a remarkable story to tell."

Running under the theme "The Sound of Paisley," the festival will explore the town’s influential musical journey, spanning punk origins to the rise of Paolo Nutini.

On March 28, the programme will celebrate the legacy of Club 69, Paisley's iconic electronic music venue.

Club 69 @ Paisley Arts Festival will run from 5pm to 10.30pm and feature a lineup of house, techno, and electronic talent, including Melé, Optimo, Jaguar, Jasper James, and Frankie Elyse.

An after-party will take place at Club 69.

On March 29, the festival will close with From Punk to Paolo, a live music event curated and hosted by BBC broadcaster Vic Galloway.

Guest performers will include Richard Jobson of The Skids, The Rezillos, King Creosote, Kathryn Joseph, Emma Pollock, C Duncan, and kitti.

They will reimagine songs by artists such as Buzzcocks, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Elvis Costello, Echo & The Bunnymen, and Scottish favourites Altered Images, Orange Juice, and Aztec Camera.

The weekend will also feature an art exhibition, aerial dance theatre, and a time-travelling performance exploring Paisley’s heritage.
