Emirates’ Dubai service from Glasgow Airport is still facing disruption despite the airline announcing a partial return to operations.

The carrier had said it would run a limited schedule from the evening of March 2 after a temporary partial closure of United Arab Emirates airspace linked to the ongoing US and Israel conflict with Iran.

However, live tracking data from Flightradar24 shows that the 13:44 EK28 flight from Glasgow to Dubai on Tuesday, March 3 was cancelled.

Departures from Glasgow were also called off on Sunday and Monday as tensions in the region intensified.

Emirates has not provided any further update since confirming that only a reduced number of flights would operate. Passengers affected are being contacted directly if they are rebooked onto alternative services, and the airline has advised customers not to travel to the airport unless they have received confirmation.

A further Emirates service from Glasgow to Dubai is scheduled to depart at 13:35 on Wednesday, March 4, though it is not yet known whether it will operate as planned.

The airline has said it is continuing to monitor developments, adding that the safety and security of passengers and crew remains its top priority.

The Gazette has contacted both Emirates and Glasgow Airport for comment.
