Emirates has issued an update on when they believe flights will resume from Glasgow Airport.

The airline suspended its Dubai service today as airspace closures across the Middle East continue to impact travel, following joint US and Israeli military action in Iran.

Yesterday, the airline shared that they hoped to have services returning to normal at 3pm UAE time this afternoon.

However, in a new update, they believe flights will resume after 11.59pm UAE time on Wednesday, March 4, with operations out of Glasgow still on hold until then.

In a statement, Emirates said: "All scheduled Emirates flights to and from Dubai remain suspended until 11.59pm UAE time on March 4, due to airspace closures across the region.

"Emirates continues to operate a limited number of passenger repatriation and freighter flights on March 3 and 4.

"We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority on these limited flights.

"Please do not go to the airport unless you have been notified directly by Emirates or hold a confirmed booking for these flights."

The airline also advised travellers to check for the latest updates before travelling to the airport.

The spokesperson said: "Emirates continues to monitor the situation, and we will develop our operational schedule accordingly.

"The latest flight updates will be published on our website.

"Customers are advised to check flight status, review the latest operational updates on emirates.com, and check their email for any notifications about changes or cancellations to their flights before travelling to the airport."

The disruption follows a partial airspace closure imposed by the United Arab Emirates’ General Civil Aviation Authority, leading to all flights scheduled to and from Glasgow Airport to Dubai being cancelled.

This is the fourth day of disruption for the airport.

Today, the 13.44 EK28 flight from Glasgow to Dubai was cancelled, as confirmed by live air traffic data from Flightradar24.

The return service from Dubai to Glasgow, scheduled to arrive at 11.35am was also cancelled.

We reported yesterday that the airline shared a message on social media indicating that limited flights would begin operating on the evening of March 2.

The airline said: "We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority, and those who have been rebooked to travel on these limited flights will be contacted directly by Emirates.

"Please do not go to the airport unless you have been notified.

"All other flights remain suspended until further notice.

"Emirates continues to monitor the situation, and we will develop our operational schedule accordingly.

"Updates will be published on Emirates.com and our official social media channels."

Emirates has reiterated that the safety and security of its passengers and crew remain its highest priority.

Affected travellers have been offered alternative options in light of the cancellations.

Passengers can rebook on an alternative flight to their intended destination for travel on or before March 20.

If the ticket was booked directly with Emirates, passengers are advised to contact the airline for assistance.

Those who booked through a travel agent should contact the agent for rebooking support.

Customers also have the option to request a refund for bookings dated on or before March 10.

Refund requests can be made by completing the refund form on the Emirates website if the ticket was purchased directly from the airline.

Otherwise, passengers should reach out to their travel agent.
