Local children and families are invited to hop along to a free Easter egg hunt taking place this April.

Organised by Renfrew Community Council, the event will begin at 1pm on Sunday, April 5 in Robertson Park, near the side entrance on Craigielee Road.

The Easter Sunday activity will give children the chance to explore the park in search of hidden chocolate eggs, with Haribo available for those who can’t have chocolate.

Callum Reid, chair of Renfrew Community Council, said: "Community events like this are about simple fun and bringing people together.

"It is a chance for children to enjoy the park, for families to meet their neighbours and for Renfrew to feel that wee bit more connected."

Renfrew Community Council also hopes the event will encourage residents to get involved in shaping the future of their town.

Mr Reid said: "The community council is your place to bring ideas, raise concerns and help create positive change in Renfrew.

"If you care about the town and want to be part of the volunteers moving Renfrew forward, we would love to hear from you."

Families are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early and to follow any guidance given on the day.

All children should be accompanied by parents or carers.
