'Inspirational community members' have been honoured for their dedication and service by Renfrewshire’s Provost.

Individuals and groups from across the area were recognised at the Provost’s Community Awards, held at the Glynhill Hotel in Renfrew, for their contributions to the community.

The ceremony, hosted by Jed McCabe, celebrated those who made a positive impact through their efforts in areas including arts, sport, volunteering, and community support.

Renfrewshire’s Provost Lorraine Cameron said: "The Community Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate those who continue to go above and beyond without looking for reward or recognition.

"Each winner was nominated by their own communities and it’s an honour to reward them for their dedication and commitment.

"As the Provost, I meet hundreds of inspiring people and groups every year and it never ceases to amaze me that there is so much fantastic work going on throughout Renfrewshire.

"Congratulations to all our winners, your hard work does not go unnoticed."

The Provost’s Community Awards were first established in 1997 by former Provost Nancy Allison and have been continued by each subsequent Provost, recognising more than 100 deserving community members for their commitment and devotion.

Among this year’s winners was the Paisley & District Royal British Legion Pipe Band, who took home the Arts and Culture award.

The Community Group award was given to Roar Connections.

Finally the St Mirren FC Charitable Foundation received the Provost’s Award for Outstanding Achievement.

The awards were sponsored by a range of local organisations, including City Gate Construction, Renfrewshire Council, Glasgow Airport Ltd, UNISON Renfrewshire, and Acre Industrial Services Ltd.
