A mental health campaigner has walked 100 miles across the United States in a kilt and he will walk 2000 more.
Craig Ferguson, from Paisley, reached Denver, Colorado, on Thursday, April 2, completing the first third of his 3000-mile Tartan Trek from Los Angeles to Boston.
Beginning his journey at the Santa Monica Pier on Tuesday, February 24, Craig aims to complete the trek in 104 days by walking the equivalent of a marathon each day – all while wearing a kilt.
Craig is undertaking the gruelling challenge with the hope of raising £1 million for the Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH) and has already raised more than £50,000.

Craig said: "Reaching 1000 miles feels huge – but it’s also a reminder of just how far there is still to go.
"The past few weeks have pushed me in ways I’ve never experienced before.
"From the heat of Death Valley to the climbs through the mountains.
"It’s been relentless at times.
"One of the most incredible parts of this journey has been the support from people across the USA.
"I’ve had strangers stop to cheer me on, offer food, drinks and even small gifts – acts of kindness that really stay with you when you’re out here every day.
"But what keeps me going is knowing why I’m doing this.
"The messages of support, the donations and the conversations happening around mental health – that’s what makes every step worth it.
"If this journey helps even one person feel less alone, then it’s all worth it."
Craig’s journey has already taken him through Death Valley and the Rocky Mountains and will see him travel through multiple states before finishing in Boston in time for Scotland’s World Cup opener in June.
He is supported on the trek by his lifelong friend Matt Allan, who is driving the support vehicle and managing logistics of the 104-day endurance challenge.

"Reaching 1000 miles and raising more than £50,000 is a phenomenal achievement.
"The funds raised through the Tartan Trek will help us continue delivering life-changing mental health support across Scotland.
"At a time when demand for services is increasing, Craig’s efforts – and the support behind him – are making a real difference."
